The Redbud Community Play Reading Series is a free monthly reading series in which community members and theatre professionals share in the joy of reading plays aloud together.
These unrehearsed readings offer opportunities to appreciate plays written by local playwrights and IU alums, and established plays we may not otherwise be exposed to.

This month’s reading is . . .
THE MUDLARK’S GUIDE TO FIND-WORTHY FINDS by Nicole DeSalle
During a regular yearly visit, friends Marnie and Kat catch up while mudlarking: collecting detritus along the Thames River in London. But when Kat asks Marnie to use a secret skill, their friendship is put to the test.
Nicole DeSalle is an American playwright who studied Dramaturgy and Writing for Performance at Goldsmiths University in London. She also studied playwriting with The Barrow Group and the Chicago Dramatists. Her plays have been recognized by the New Play Development Workshop, the Central Pennsylvania Theatre and Dance Festival, the Last Frontier Valdez Theatre Conference, the Word Wave One Act Play Festival, and the Stage It! Ten-Minute Play Festival. She is passionate about telling stories that invite audiences to question what they think they know, and to this endshe enjoys putting new twists on classic tales. She’s also a huge history buff who loves crafting narratives inspired by true events.
